St. Petersburg, FL (Almased HQ) - On Wednesday, October 11th, Almased USA donated 171 bags full of school supplies to Frontier Elementary School in Clearwater, Florida. The students and PTA of Frontier Elementary previously adopted a first grade class at Luther Burbank Elementary in Houston, Texas. When the school was hit by Hurricane Harvey, Frontier Elementary began a donation process in September for their adopted classroom.
Donations poured in, including the 171 school supply bags filled with notebooks, crayons, pencils and lunch bags from Almased. “We adopted a class, but it looks like we’re going to be able to help the whole school,” says PTA parent, Melody Taylor.
“We were supposed to mail the donations off to the school, however, we had such an abundance of donations that myself and another parent is actually going to take some time off work and we’re going drive the donations to the school itself,” says Taylor.
The PTA parents will be handing out the donations in Houston on Monday, December 11th. The Frontier Elementary Facebook page will be live streaming the trip to Houston.
The Almased donations came from the Back-to-School Pop-Up event with the Tampa Bay Rays held in August for students of Pinellas County schools. Read about our August Pop-Up event here.
