We usually advise to refrain from fruit at the beginning of the diet until you start losing weight since the sugar in the fruit may hinder your weight loss progress. However, some people are fine with adding fruit and can still lose weight. The effects are different for each individual. You may try adding fruit, such as berries, citrus fruit and apples to see how your body does and if you continue to lose weight. If you do not, you may want to reduce your fruit intake. When you do reduce or eliminate fruit from your diet, make sure to eat more vegetables to still get important nutrients.
